Welcome! We are delighted to share this beautiful setting with our guests. the Inn in May 2010 as a way to express the Benedictine values of Healing Hospitality, Grateful Simplicity and Creative Peacemaking embodied by the Center for Benedictine Life.

In line with the monastic community's Philosophy of Land Use, the Inn at St. Gertrude is an environmentally-friendly Bed & Breakfast. We recognize our sacred responsibility to reverence and care for the land and to make proper use of the resources it provides. In order to live in harmony with the earth and to promote responsible stewardship, a variety of resource conservation practices and recycling programs have been put in place to augment experience of hospitality for our guests.

Enjoy a continental breakfast in the Inn's dining room. In the evenings, luscious, homemade desserts, coffee, tea and hot cocoa are available at the Inn. For our guests celebrating weddings or anniversaries, we offer complimentary champagne.

Our location is home to the Center for Benedictine Life at the Monastery of St. Gertrude which was founded in 1909.

Historical Museum at St. Gertrude at the Welcome Center showcasing the history of north-central Idaho and the Benedictine sisters. The Monastery Book and Gift Shop is also located at the Welcome Center, offering homemade jam, hand-crafted herbal soaps, salve and lip balm, books, music, souvenirs, one-of-a-kind items, and more.

Guests at the Inn at St. Gertrude can easily walk into the monastery forest, a model of ecological stewardship. Find numerous species of wild birds, a gorgeous array of wildflowers, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Check-In Details

Check-in is 3 p.m. or later and check-out is 11 a.m. Please note: We do have air conditioning. At this time we are not ADA accessible. Because of our rural location, phone service can be challenging. If you have difficulties we have a phone for you to use.

Privacy Policy and Internet Access

We respect our guests' privacy and will not share their personal information with anyone. Wireless access to the internet is available at the Inn at no cost to guests. The Inn may use your address information to send notices of Inn promotions (such as the Winter Stay 2 Nights for the price of 1 night.)
